So I haven't been really sewing for a while now...I've been so consumed with my "secret" project for PR weekend (in two weeks!). I had a brainstorm a couple of days ago about what costume to wear to work on Halloween. I have several costumes from previous years, like a Greek princess costume (a la "Gladiator) or a fairy costume but neither would be very comfortable or practical to work in. And then it hit me...I could wear some pajamas to work and be a sleepwalker. Ta da. Of course, I don't have any pajama tops since I just wear a t-shirt over PJ bottoms, so I HAD to make a whole new set of PJs...I've been wanting some flannel PJ's anyway. And what luck, Hancock fabrics was having a sale on flannel.
I found a very cute animal print on bright yellow flannel. For the sake of time, I used a tunic top from Simplicity and bottoms from McCalls as both were already cut out and altered. I sewed up the front and back of the top two days ago and tonight I sewed the front of the top to the back. Tomorrow I will set in the sleeves...yikes, I might have to wake up early since I'm also planning on doing some serious office re-decorating this weekend too. I'll see... I want to have the whole set done by Sunday evening, that way it will be completely ready for Halloween. I'm so excited...these PJ's will be so cute!
I also have to remember to bring my sewing machine to the office while I'm redecorating...I promised my officemate that I would hem the pants of her Halloween costume. The pants are way too long.
